Navigate Trade Fair 2024 brings together decision makers in the maritime industry

“Cargo, Cruise, and Crew – Economic Outlook” is the theme of this year’s Navigate Trade Fair, taking place in Turku on May 15th-16th.

Like any other business, in maritime all the investments and development needs require funds. Thus, the theme, Economic outlook.
The future of cargo owners’ profitable logistics operations in the North is tied to the shipowner investors’ necessary and regulatory environmental sustainability plans and investments to new technologies and new ships. These investments in shipping reflect in the whole logistics chain, and in the competitiveness of Nordic industrial companies, the shippers.

When it comes to cruise ship technology, we need more and more innovations, new suppliers, and subcontractors to serve the shipyards.
Also ports must develop their services matching the sustainability related demands and higher level of customer service demands of
the cargo owners and the passengers.

Sustainability in the maritime industry does not only cover the environmental issues and emission reduction targets, although these certainly are the key issues. Regarding the “crew”, what Navigate 2024 will talk about, it is not only the operative crew onboard but also the officers onboard and all the office staff of the shipyards, shipowners, carriers, ports and port operators to name some. Maritime industry is a huge employer when all the companies involved in the business is considered. Today, there is a shortage of skilled professionals at all levels of the maritime industry. To attract the next generation talents to this industry, Navigate Fair provides students from various fields to visit the event free of charge and to learn about the wide range of employment opportunities offered by the maritime sector.

Navigate Trade Fair has expanded from its early years into an international conference within the maritime industry. The array of companies and attendees at the fair encompasses the entire industry “food chain” from the shippers, the logistics companies, carriers and shipowners, ports and port operators, governmental agencies, ship designers and shipyards to name some.

Navigate Trade Fair provides participants with a neutral business environment to observe current trends in the industry, to hear toplevel keynotes and panel discussions about the directions of maritime development, and of course, to meet customers, competitors, collaborators, and talents.
